Q: How did you join disciple?
A: I started playing in a band with some guys in middle school – Tim Barrett, Josh Cochran, and Paul Hogan. We were called Disciple because one of our three songs was called Disciple. We played only one show in September of 1990. The band split up shortly after that. Tim Barrett and I started Disciple for the second time in December of 1992 with Brad Noah and Adrian Ditamossi. Adrian left the band shortly after our first show, which was in May of 1993. After his departure, I added playing bass guitar to my vocal duties.

A: I started singing in church when I was 5 years old.

A: U2

A: 4 years of piano lessons, one vocal lesson, 2 years of drum lessons, 5 years of band, 2 years of marching band, Senior year performed in Maryville Singers class, and I have performed approximately 2000 concerts which is what I call hands-on training.

Q: How did you join disciple?
A: While in Falling Up, We toured with Disciple. A few years later, kevin ran into a close buddy of myn at a festival and told him Disciple was looking for a guitar player, my buddy knew i was looking for a gig so a few days later i got a call from Kevin. I tried out while the band was on tour with superchick. shortly after my try out i was inducted in with many wooden paddle swats to the rear.

A: Since March 14th of 2008.

A: You wouldn’t be familiar with my direct influences. Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Eric Johnson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Derek Trucks, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Andy Fairweather Low, Randy Williams, Jonny Lang, etc.

Q: What are your current influences?
A: Basically the same as my What are your early influences?…I’ve accumulated a few more over the years. John Mayer, Joe Bonamassa, Doyle Bramhall II, Jonathan Steingard, etc. I’m more interested in players with good tone than players that can play a million notes per second. Tone comes more from the hands than anything else….so if a player has good tone, that means he knows what he’s doing with his hands. As far as bands that have influenced me: Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters, Thrice, Them Crooked Vultures, Queens of the Stone Age, Tool, He Is Legend, Pantera, Falling Up, Sevendust, Captain Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters, Iron Glory

Q: How did you join disciple?
A: I was working as a guitar tech for Pillar in 2007. Disciple and Pillar have known each other for years so when Disciple had a need for guitarist they called Pillar. Pillar gave them my name and I auditioned at Christmas Rock Night in Germany in December of 2007. They brought me to their hotel room and I played “Scars Remain” for them and they asked me to play a couple of shows. The rest is history.

Q: How long have you been in Disciple?
A: My first show was December 31st 2007.

Q: How long have you been playing your instrument?
A: I started playing guitar in 1994.

Q: Who is your favorite musical artist?
A: Either Led Zeppelin or Foo Fighters.

Q: What musical training have you had?
A: I haven’t really had any formal training. My stepdad taught me my first few chords on guitar in 1994 and the rest I picked up by playing along with records. In 1997 I started playing trombone in the Junior High band and learned to read music a little. Around 2004 or 2005 I took a few lessons from Noah Henson of Pillar. My wife has recently started teaching me a little bit of music theory.

Q: Where are you from?
A: I was born in Houston, TX but we moved about 45 minutes later. My earliest memories are when I lived in Louisiana so i consider it home. We moved around a lot when I was really young (Texas, Louisiana, Missouri, Connecticut, Oklahoma). When I was 5 or 6 we ended up in Poteau, OK and I lived there until I graduated High School in 2004. All that to say: I’m from Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma….and now I live in Tennessee….soo….Tennessee..

Q: Who’s your favorite guitarist?
A: Eric Clapton. I don’t consider him the greatest of all time…but he’s hands down my favorite. His playing style is incredibly tasteful and he’s influenced my playing more than any other player.

Q: How did you join disciple?
A: Disciple took my old band Staple on tour on the Fundamentals of Rock tour and I became good friends with the guys. When Joey left the band Kevin called me to see if I’d be interested in playing bass. I was working at a corporate coffee shop at the time, so that wasn’t a hard decision.

A: Since 01/01/08.

A: I started playing bass when I joined Staple so just under 10 years. I love bass and wouldn’t trade it for any instrument; Except accordion.
